Republic of Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Putin was awarded the highest award of the entity, which has absolutely nothing to do with the war in Ukraine, but only emphasizes Russia's commitment to the Dayton Accords, writes portal Slobodna Dalmacija.
In a conversation with journalists, Dodik said that he would prefer if the war in Ukraine did not start at all, and wished it to end as soon as possible.
He added that the ambassador Ukraine in Croatia Vasily Kirilich, who is also a part-time ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been declared an “undesirable person” in the Republika Srpska after calling Dodik's decision an award of one terrorist to another.
“It is an honor for the Republika Srpska that Putin expressed his willingness to accept this award,” Dodik said. At the same time, he added that he would offer to present awards to the presidents of all countries that are guarantors of the Dayton Agreement.
January 9, as part of the celebration of the anti-constitutional Republic Day; Dodik awarded the chief rashist in absentia with the highest award of the Republika Srpska – “Order of the Republika Srpska on a necklace” for "development and strengthening of friendly ties between Russia and the RS".
Ukrainian Ambassador to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina Vasily Kirilich called this act “a reward from a terrorist to a terrorist”. And in the European Union, Dodik's decision was severely criticized, saying that there is no place in the EU for rewarding politicians who order to exterminate a neighboring country and kill its people.
