(Los Angeles) The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cody Bellinger dodged salary arbitration on Friday when the all-star accepted a one-year contract worth US $ 16.1 million.
The Dodgers outfielder and first baseman was voted the National’s rookie of the year in 2017 and his MVP in 2019. His .239 offensive average in 2020 was his lowest in his career. He still hit 12 home runs and produced 30 points in that shortened season.
In 2019, he had struck for 305 with 47 home runs and 115 RBIs, all personal marks.
Bellinger has appeared in the All-Star twice so far. He will be able to enjoy autonomy at the end of the 2023 season.
