Doctors representing the University of Qatar conducted a study, during which they found that the coronavirus will return in the winter until herd immunity is formed. The sooner the defense system is formed, the faster the rate of spread of the disease will decrease.

Most respiratory infections are seasonal. They can eventually return to the population. For example, influenza and other types of coronavirus peak in winter in temperate regions, but they can be found year round in tropical regions.
Different factors influence the spread of infections at different times of the year. For example, this depends on the survival rate of viruses in the air and on surfaces, as well as the person's susceptibility to infections. Coronavirus, unlike other viruses, has a higher transmission rate, partly due to the fact that herd immunity is not developed. At the same time, the factors that determine the seasonality of viruses will not stop the infection of people in the summer. As soon as a society can develop herd immunity through natural infections and vaccinations, the rate of infection must decrease and the virus will be susceptible to seasonal factors.
