Anna Ivashkevich expressed her professional opinion, talking about the consequences of consuming persimmon. Many people use the fruit as a substitute for dessert, as it is very healthy. At the same time, the fruit is special and stands out from others. Because of this, it may be contraindicated in some people. You should consult your doctor about whether you can eat it. However, even a healthy person can harm their well-being if they exceed the daily allowance. The specialist does not recommend consuming more than 3 units, since overeating persimmons can affect the intestines. It contains a large amount of tinin. This substance is typical for unripe fruits. In addition, the pulp contains a large amount of plant fibers. Both of these substances have a bad effect on the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, as they impair peristalsis and reduce the secretion of the small intestine. This is especially true in children.
A member of the National Association of Clinical Nutrition Alliance stressed that persimmons can raise blood sugar levels. In one fruit, the content of a substance prohibited for diabetics reaches 44%. If we are talking about dried pulp, then the figure reaches 65% at all.
