In addition to having multiplied the announcements concerning its flagship licenses (Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel), D23 was the opportunity for the Disney group to tease a dozen attractions for its theme parks. Let's take stock together!
#1 Disney Villains Land (Magic Kingdom)
< p>
Since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), the Disney studio has been able to impose memorable villains, from the Evil Queen to Jafar, including Maleficent, Scar and Frollo. The Magic Kingdom park in Florida will pay tribute to them with a section entirely dedicated to them. The concept art above pays homage to several Disney movies, including Sleeping Beauty and The Lion King. We can't wait to see the final result!
#2 Avengers: Infinity Defense (Disney California Adventure)
The Infinity Saga undoubtedly represents the golden age of Marvel Studios productions, which have struggled to excite audiences since the launch of Phase 4 of the MCU. Disney wants to take us back to this glorious era with Avengers: Infinity Defense. Visitors will be invited to iconic locations from the early phases of the MCU, such as New York, Wakanda and Asgard, for a multiversal battle against Thanos. Construction will begin in 2026.
#3 Spider-Man (Shanghai Disneyland)
One of the most iconic superheroes in the Marvel stable, Spider-Man will be honored in Asia. In addition to a new attraction planned for Hong Kong Disneyland, a roller coaster will make us feel the speed of the Brooklyn Spider-Man at Shanghai Disneyland. Definitely, between these two new attractions and the very promising first images of the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker is popular at Disney!
#4 The Mandalorian and Grogu (Disney's Hollywood Studios)
While the first night of D23 allowed us to learn that an iconic member of the Ghost crew in Star Wars Rebels will make his big comeback in the film The Mandalorian and Grogu, The feature film will have its own attraction in the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edgeat Disney's Hollywood Studio in Orlando (Florida), based on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We imagine that we will have to help Din Djarin and Grogu in a mission that will undoubtedly meet with immense success.
#5 Avatar (Disney California Adventure)
It's now official, the third Avatar film, still directed by the legendary James Cameron and scheduled for December 17, 2025, will be titled Avatar: Fire and Ash. While the first two films are on the podium of the biggest box office hits worldwide, Disney intends to capitalize on this success with attractions planned for Disney California Adventure, inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: Fire and Ash and the two sequels still to come.
#6 Coco (Disney California Adventure)
World-renowned, the masterpiece from the Pixar studio directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and Adrian Molina (Elio) is still alive. Disney has just announced a Coco attraction for Disney California Adventure, inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion attractions. A promising attraction!
#7 The Lion King (Disneyland Paris)
The live-action film Mufasa will take us back next December to the world of the film The Lion King (a trailer revealed yesterday revealed more about the story of the film). The Lion Kingwill also be at the center of a brand new attraction presented at D3, bound for Disneyland Paris. While there is reason to rejoice in finding this beloved universe of children from the 1990s and 2000s, let us point out that it replaces the Star Wars land initially planned.
#8 An audio-animatronic from Walt Disney (Disneyland California)
For some time now, Disney has invested in audio-animatronics. Ultra-sophisticated robots, taking on the appearance of the group's emblematic characters, and thus improving the immersion of visitors to Disney parks. The legendary creator of the studio, Walt Disney, will soon have his own larger-than-life audio-animatronic at Disneyland California. A nice tribute, as the studio celebrated its hundredth anniversary last year, for the one who made no secret of his desire to live in a Disney park!
#9 Cars (Magic Kingdom)
John Lasseter's trilogy hasn't had any sequels since Cars 3 (phew!), but Disney continues to exploit the Pixar license, thanks in particular to its parks. A rally attraction is also planned for Magic Kingdom in Florida and two attractions are under construction at Walt Disney World.
#10 Monsters, Inc. (Disney's Hollywood Studio)
The masterpiece by Pete Docter (Up, Soul, Inside Out), current head of the Pixar studio, is back in force with a space at Disney's Hollywood Studio reserved for the world of the film, which will immerse us in the city of Monstropolis and inside its famous factory for processing children's screams. One of the attractions is billed as the very first “suspended” roller coaster in the history of Disney theme parks.
#11 Encanto (Walt Disney World)
Released in 2021, Encanto : The Fantastic Madrigal Familyhas met with great success among young audiences on Disney+ despite box office receipts far from the great records of the 2010s. However, the Disney group intends to continue to immerse us in the colorful world of Encanto with a first attraction expected at Walt Disney World (Florida) in 2027. You haven't heard the last of Bruno!
#12 Indiana Jones (Disney's Animal Kingdom)
The poor relation of the Star Wars license since Disney bought Lucasfilm – since only one film has been produced since 2012 – Indiana Jones will nevertheless have the right to his attraction. And as the zoological theme park Disney's Animal Kingdom, located near Orlando, is a call to adventure, the greatest adventurer in the history of contemporary cinema will have his place there.
