Soon, visitors to Disneyland Paris will be able to discover a new area in Disney Adventure World. This space will be dedicated to the world of the Lion King, which was announced at D23. It has just been revealed through the first images that we invite you to discover today.
Pride Lands is inspired by the animated classic The Lion King
There are countless Disney classics that have inspired attractions at Disneyland Paris. After the Avengers Campus, the Parisian theme park is developing an extension project to integrate the Arendelle: World of Frozen area which will be dedicated to the world of Frozen. But during the last D23, the big-eared firm made an announcement that delighted fans of the studio because a new masterpiece from the 1990s will have the right to its own land: The Lion King.
This future area that will be located at Disney Adventure World is called Pride Lands. Disney unveiled this project with a model exhibited at the Disney Experiences pavilion allowing us to discover what to expect. Thus, we can see that this new land will be inspired by the animated film released in theaters in 1994 and not by its live-action adaptation that the public was able to discover in theaters in 2019.
The model of Pride Lands reveals its attractions
During the presentation, the company explained that this future area would be a reconstruction of a savannah populated by animatronic robots with a waterfall that can be descended on board a canoe. This is therefore confirmed through the images of the model which is reminiscent of the Splash Mountain attraction but here surmounted by the Lion Rock on which adult Simba or Mufasa sits. We can see that the boat comes out of a cave before descending the waterfall with a bump at the very end.
The model also presents the hill environment with grass, rocks and different animals like giraffes, lions, hyenas, zebras which will be created in animatronics.
In addition to the enormous Lion Rock, the land will offer another smaller attraction themed around Timon and Pumbaa's jungle located in front of the main ride. The area will also have food outlets, shops and places where visitors will be able to meet characters.
For now, no opening date for this future Pride Lands area has been announced. Before that, the Disney Adventure World park will offer visitors World of Frozen at from 2026.
