The document bears the signatures of 35 legislators, the majority of Fuerza Popular, Avanza País and Renovación Popular, in addition to Karol Paredes (Popular Action), Kira Alcaraz (Somos Perú), Gladys Echaíz and Roberto Chiabra (both from Alianza para el Progreso).

The motion accuses the head of the Ministry of “omission of duties and inability to manage” after the clashes in the Arequipa district of Atico, which to date have left 14 dead .

Furthermore, it is accused of “serious functional responsibility” for the “ inaction and apathy”to locate and capture fugitives Juan Silva Villegas, Bruno Pacheco and Fray Vásquez Castillo, nephew of President Pedro Castillo.

In the same way, it is stated that Senmache, before the Oversight Commission, has not complied with clarifying the facts, nor has it “responded suitably and fully” on the actions deployed by your sector to reverse events.

“On the contrary, it has transferred responsibility to the Public Ministry, ignoring that actions related to internal order and public order are of primary competence and exclusive to the ministry in charge”, he points out.

He also considers “reprehensible” that the minister has stated that he could not follow up on Juan Silva because that required a court order, “forgetting on the one hand that he was responsible for video surveillance” and that State security assigned to the former minister was under the jurisdiction of his sector.

“The events that have occurred are sufficient reason for the current Minister of the Interior to leave the ministerial office before more tragedies continue to happen in the country due to their incompetence and inaction s that destabilize the Nation ”, he emphasizes.
