Digital Foundry experts named the most beautiful games of 2024

In a special video, Digital Foundry editors held an impromptu Graphics of the Year awards ceremony, where they determined the games with the best graphics released in 2024. Senua's Saga came together in the fight for first place: Hellblade II and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and the latter won.

The top ten, without ranking, included such projects as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of ChornobylPersona 3 ReloadMetaphor: ReFantazioTiny GladeFinal Fantasy VII RebirthMighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, as well as releases from Nightdive Studios.

In the top three Star Wars Outlaws took third place due to the graphics matching the spirit of “Star Wars” and the advantages of the Snowdrop engine (reflections, lighting, ray tracing). At the same time, some shortcomings, in particular the cutscenes, lowered the game's overall score.

Leader of the Year

Competition for first place was between Senua's Saga: Hellblade II and Indiana Jones and the Great CircleSenua's Saga impressed the experts with its cinematics, although they noted that “it's more like a movie than a game”.

At the same time Indiana Jones and the Great Circle demonstrated not only excellent graphics, but also stability at 60 frames per second even on consoles. The decisive arguments in favor of Indiana Jones were the variety, detail of locations, effective use of ray tracing and flexibility in performance on different devices.
