A new drone resembling the Russian Lancet was presented in Lithuania. This drone will be tested in Ukraine.
The “Drone Day 2024” exhibition was held at Kiviskiu airfield, where new drones of Lithuanian manufacturers were presented. One of the drones, similar to the Russian Lancet, is characterized by maneuverability and compactness — all thanks to the aerodynamic scheme with a double Ixo-shaped tail. About 30 companies took part in the event, and almost 100 of their representatives discussed the prospects of new technologies.
Minister of National Defense Laurinas Kaschyunas said that several companies are ready to provide their developments for testing in Ukraine. This will help evaluate their combat capabilities and improve technical characteristics. «Drones purchased from Lithuanian manufacturers will be tested in Ukraine, so that we can evaluate their capabilities in the context of the battlefield and the methods of their improvement», — emphasized Laurinas Kaschiunas.
Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrid Šimonite emphasized the importance of strengthening the defense industry and supporting Ukraine.
Similar attempts to create drones are already being made in other countries, in particular, in Iran and Germany. The Ukrainian RAM X drone, developed on the basis of Lancet, also successfully passed the test.
