The skin needs macronutrients, which include fat, protein and carbohydrates. However, there are differences in them. For example, trans fats, which are found in fast food, convenience foods, and other fried foods in oil, attack cells, thereby accelerating their aging. They also cause acne. On the other hand, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, on the other hand, protect genetic material, slowing down the aging process of the skin, explained Yael Adler. They are mainly found in plant foods (avocados, nuts, seeds, flaxseed oil, etc.) and sea fish.
The situation is similar with other organic elements. So, the specialist recommends giving up the so-called fast carbohydrates, which include sweets, sweet soda, white flour baked goods, and all kinds of fast foods. Because of them, blood sugar levels quickly rise, which, in turn, causes the body to produce insulin more quickly. “ This is bad for the skin, because the sebaceous glands increase, and this is fraught with the appearance of acne. There is an accumulation of sugar in the genetic material, fats and proteins. Because of this, the skin becomes inflamed – and the aging process, as well as of other tissues , accelerates , ”Yael Adler warned.
The dietitian recommended replacing fast carbohydrates with complex ones. We are talking, for example, about whole grain products, boiled potatoes, vegetables, fruits.
