Deputy Minister took bribes to buy generators - NABU

Deputy Minister for Development of Communities, Territories and Vasily Lozinsky’s infrastructure was detained by NABU after searches, the UP reports, citing interlocutors among law enforcement officers and in the Cabinet of Ministers.

The investigation is underway under Articles 364 (abuse of power or official position that entailed grave consequences) and 368 (acceptance of a proposal, promises or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official on a large scale or committed by an official in a responsible position, or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, or repeatedly, or combined with extortion of an illegal benefit).

Criminal proceedings have been investigated since September 2022

Later, UP sources reported that Lozinsky was accused of taking a bribe in the amount of 400 thousand dollars for the purchase of generators. The total amount of the purchase was UAH 1.8 billion.

In early November, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed First Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories Vasily Lozinsky as Acting Minister after the dismissal of Alexei Chernyshov from this position.

Later The Cabinet of Ministers united the Ministries of Infrastructure and Development of Communities and Territories. The joint ministry was headed by Alexander Kubrakov, and Lozinsky was appointed his deputy.
