Denmark's DFDS invests €1 billion in the construction of electric ferries that will run across the English Channel

Thanks to the relatively small distances that separate Britain and France, these routes can use battery-powered vessels.

Danish logistics group DFDS announced its intention to invest 1 billion euros in the construction of six electric ferries that will operate cargo-passenger services across the English Channel.

This is written by CTC with reference to The Maritime Executive.

Thanks to the relatively small distances that separate Great Britain and France, these routes can already use battery-powered vessels today.< /p>

Three of the six ferries will be registered under the French flag.

It is expected that two vessels will start operating by 2030, the rest by 2035.
