Denmark ordered a batch of Skyranger air defense systems

German defense concern Rheinmetall received a large order for Skyranger 30 air defense systems from Denmark. This was reported by the company's press service on Monday, September 30.

It is indicated that within this order, the Rheinmetall Air Defense branch signed a contract with the Danish procurement agency FMI for the production of 16 anti-aircraft modules.

The value of the order is a three-digit amount in millions of euros. Also, Rheinmetall received an order for ammunition for a double-digit amount of millions of euros.

Lt. Gen. Per Puholm Olsen, director of the Danish procurement agency FMI, said that this contract is an important step towards building an air defense capability for the brigade, which in turn makes a significant contribution to its full operational capability.

< p>Skyranger 30 – it is an anti-aircraft system integrated into the gun turret. Designed for reconnaissance, tracking and repelling air attacks. It houses a modified version of the 30mm Oerlikon KCA gun and two short-range surface-to-air missiles. In Denmark, these anti-aircraft modules will be installed on the Piranha 5 chassis.

Earlier it was reported that Rheinmetall will hand over the Skyranger system to Ukraine for testing in combat conditions.

The Ukrainian military also showed firing from the Skynex complex, which was also developed Rheinmetall.

Denmark continues in every way to support Ukraine. For example, in July it became known that the country would transfer all its air defense equipment to Ukraine to help us defend against Russian missile attacks.

This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during the NATO summit, and was broadcast by the Voice of America on Thursday, July 11.

Ukraine must be provided with all air defense systems that are currently at Denmark's disposal, she emphasized. she. Frederiksen reminded that earlier Denmark decided to transfer all its artillery to Ukraine. This was done because the Ukrainian defenders "apply it better than in Denmark".

"And now we must do the same with air defense", &mdash added the head of the Danish government.

Denmark also financed the production of 18 Ukrainian Bohdan self-propelled artillery units for the needs of the Armed Forces. Before that, the country provided money for the production of Ukrainian drones.

In June, Denmark announced a 19 package of weapons for Ukraine. More equipment to support F-16 fighters will be transferred to our state.

By the end of this year, Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighters from Denmark. This was said by the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, DR reports on Monday, September 16.
