In A mobile exhibition was opened in Kyiv/Mariupol Reborn
On May 20, the exhibition “Mariupol: 86 Days of Defense” was opened on Sofia Square in Kyiv. It is dedicated to the second anniversary of the completion of the heroic defense of the city.
The exhibition was created by Big City Lab as part of the project “M86. Chronicle of the defense of Mariupol” together with the public organizations “Heart of Azovstal” and “Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal” ” with the support of Mariupol Reborn and the Metinvest group of companies.
The authors of the project emphasize that the Chronicle is verified by the military. Every fact in it is confirmed by several sources. The main author was a Mariupol journalist who works under the pseudonym ” Maripol sector”. Relatives of the defenders of Mariupol played a significant role in its creation.
All military units at the level of commanders – from Azov to the marines, from the border guards to the ZSU – not only participated in the creation of the Annals, but were the main authors. From now on, edits are no longer accepted. We have the final version. Further, it is very important for us that this Chronicle be published as a book – in Ukrainian and English. We plan to present it in Washington. This book is not just a memory of those who died, but to a greater extent an advocacy tool to fight for our defenders who are still in captivity, said Natalya Yemchenko, a member of the supervisory board of the NGO “Heart of Azovstal”, NGO “Mariupol.Reborn” “, SCM communications director Rinata Akhmetova
The mobile exhibition consists of a structure framed by metal pipes with a description of the 10 most iconic events of the city's defense. It is located in the shape of an arrow pointing to Mariupol. Architect Anna Pomazanna worked on the conceptfrom Kharkiv School of Architecture and curator Nastya Ishchenko from Big City Lab.
