NASA's Perseverance rover, while exploring the bottom of the Lake crater, photographed debris. This is probably a piece of fabric that was used to protect the device, writes Space.
The Perseverance rover began research in February 2021. Recently, the device photographed a piece of debris that was stuck between two stones. It turned out that this piece of shiny material is the thermal insulation fabric that was used during the landing of the rover.
“This shiny piece of foil is part of the thermal blanket, the material we use to control the temperature of the rover. But this is a surprise: the launch pad crashed about 2 km from here. Therefore, it is not clear whether this piece landed here after, or was it brought here by the wind? ”, NASA engineers say.
My team has spotted something unexpected: It’s a piece of a thermal blanket that they think may have come from my descent stage, the rocket-powered jet pack that set me down on landing day back in 2021. pic.twitter.com/O4rIaEABLu
