Unsurprisingly, Deadpool & Wolverine has been a real box office success since its theatrical release. So much so that the production starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman managed to smash the record that was previously held by Todd Phillips' Joker. The latter has just congratulated the actor who plays Wade Wilson and Shawn Levy the director for this incredible performance.
Deadpool is the Jesus of Marvel
Indeed, it was expected by both fans and Marvel Studios: Deadpool & Wolverine managed to end the MCU curse and the Merc with a Mouth is in some ways Marvel's Savior. Since its theatrical release on July 26, the only MCU film this year has been a hit and continues to attract viewers. It has just break the record for the highest grossing R-rated film in history, which was previously held by the film directed by Todd Phillips, Joker, with Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role. A performance that was praised by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige.
But it wasn't just Feige who congratulated the film's team. There was also the film's director, who previously held the title and was just dethroned.

It must be said that this Thursday, Deadpool & Wolverine managed to generate $1.086 billion at the box office, surpassing the revenue generated by Joker released in 2019 and which brought in $1.079 billion. These two productions are so far the only two Rated-R productions to have crossed the symbolic billion-dollar mark. As for the Top 5 Rated-R releases, Deadpool's latest adventures at the cinema are therefore placed at first place, followed by Joker, Oppenheimer with Cillian Murphy and his $974.5 million, then Deadpool and Deadpool 2 closes this ranking. In short, Wade Wilson aka Deadpool wears the title of Jesus of Marvel extremely well!
