The band Dead Rooster delighted fans with an unexpected reunion and a landmark performance of the song “Gobelen” in a duet with Khrystyna Soloviy. This composition, which first saw the light of day back in 1997, received a new lease of life and became a vivid symbol of the cult band's musical comeback.

The song “Tapestry” has already become one of the classic works of Dead Rooster. It was first included in the album “City God Eros” (1997), and later received an updated version in the collection “Shabadabad” (1998). Now the composition appears in a modern sound, performed by Khrystyna Solova together with the renewed composition of the band.

The author of the text is Viktor Neborak, and the music was created by Oleh “John” Suk. Khrystyna Solovii shared her admiration for the collaboration:

“This is probably one of the most pleasant musical collaborations for me. I have been a fan of the band Dead Rooster since my youth. I attended their concerts and then I did not even dream that one day I would perform one of my most favorite songs with them. This is an incredibly beautiful song, the song is a canvas, where each part, each instrument is like threads that form an incredible musical picture, and I am incredibly happy and proud that this canvas will now contain my voice, in tune with my favorite band, the Dead Rooster, – said the artist.

The studio version of the updated “Gobelin” is already available on all music platforms. In addition, the official live stream of the reunion concert can be viewed online. This year, the duet version of the song received a nomination for the MUZVAR Music Awards in the Re-singing category. The winners will be determined on December 2 at the “Ukraine” Palace.

The second coming of the Dead Rooster in a modern format took place on August 5, 2023 at the Lviv Fest! Republic. For the first time, the band presented a new vocalist, Yuriy Roketskyi, and also invited to the stage the “golden line-up”: Oleg “John” Suk (bass), Roman Chaika (guitar), Yuriy Chopyk (acoustic guitar), Oles Slobodian (drums) and Yaryna Yakubyak (vocal). Percussionist Andriy Alfavitskyi joined them.

The reunion of the Dead Rooster band and their collaboration with Khrystyna Solovay confirm that real music has no statute of limitations. The new sound of “Gobelin” has become a symbol of the unity of generations, preserving the spirit of the original and adding a modern emotional depth.

We are waiting for the results of the MUZVAR Music Awards and further surprises from the band that never ceases to inspire.
