After directing the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy at Marvel Studios, James Gunn has landed at the competition to take over, with Peter Safran, the DCU. The actor, who will join Gunn's DC Cinematic Universe this fall as Rick Flag Sr. in Creature Commandos, Superman and season 2 of Peacemaker, said that “fans are going to be blown away by the mind of James Gunn.” And to compare the writer-director's project for the DCU to the work he was able to dedicate to the films of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy:

Gunn promises to do even better than Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War

If we understand what Frank Grillo means, it's that Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War are films known to be the best productions of Marvel Studios and according to the actor, they will be small films next to those that the DCU will offer.

James Gunn and Peter Safran have already planned the next 10 years of the DC universe which means that the public must indeed expect something heavy. With his film Superman, Gunn will lay the foundations of the franchise.
