As you know, James Gunn and Peter Safran have arrived at the head of DC to propose a new DCU and with this new statement from Frank Grillo, it's a safe bet that on the Marvel side, Kevin Feige is in PLS. Explanations.
James Gunn's ambitious project for the new DCU
After directing the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy at Marvel Studios, James Gunn has landed at the competition to take over, with Peter Safran, the DCU. Some projects have already been announced for both cinema and television but it seems that this is only the tip of the iceberg because what the director is preparing is huge. So much so that Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige risk finding themselves in PLS.
Indeed, if we are to believe the actor Frank Grillo during an interview given to the American site ScreenRant for the promotion of his new film Long Gone Heroes, the House of Ideas would have a lot to worry about. The actor, who will join Gunn's DC Cinematic Universe this fall as Rick Flag Sr. in Creature Commandos, Superman and season 2 of Peacemaker, said that “fans are going to be blown away by the mind of James Gunn.” And to compare the writer-director's project for the DCU to the work he was able to dedicate to the films of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy:
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000I couldn't be more grateful to James and Peter Safran. Those guys are running DC now and they brought me into that fold in a big way. I think the fans are going to be blown away by the mind of James Gunn. He's been unleashed. Guardians (of the Galaxy) is a small thing compared to what this guy has in mind for DC. So stay tuned.
Gunn promises to do even better than Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War
If we understand what Frank Grillo means, it's that Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War are films known to be the best productions of Marvel Studios and according to the actor, they will be small films next to those that the DCU will offer.
James Gunn and Peter Safran have already planned the next 10 years of the DC universe which means that the public must indeed expect something heavy. With his film Superman, Gunn will lay the foundations of the franchise. The latter, after having worked for Marvel Studios for several years has gained the experience to develop a major superhero franchise and he will now have the opportunity to make his own.
The Superman film, which will inaugurate Chapter 1 Gods and Monsters of the new DCU, is scheduled for July 9, 2025.
