An expectation that has finally come to pass. its term, since the first issue of the new DC Comics series, titled Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo, was released in early November.
In this first issue, Batman can be seen intervening at a gruesome crime scene, with the victim apparently a former member of Gotham Police. On the spot, the vigilante will first be intrigued; by the corpse of the victim, decapitated and whose head has disappeared, then on the crime scene itself,finding among the clues “green hair” which will then give him a first lead.
And as the Dark Knight continued his investigation, he would discover that the individual he suspected was not exactly who he had in mind. Indeed, the track will lead him face to face; a mysterious creature, holding a head in one of its hands. And although this new enemy looks strangely like the Joker, Batman will quickly feel that the one standing in front of him is not his sworn enemy, his opponent showing a power never seen before.
The latter having succeeded in escape thanks to; The intervention of the police, Batman will then investigate the disappearance of Commissioner James Gordon. This is how he will be approached; by the Joker, the real one this time, who will offer him a deal; unexpected, to say the least: in exchange for the commissioner, Batman must join forces with him to help him solve the problem. recover Harley Quinn, the latter having been kidnapped by a mysterious entity.
The issue then ends with Gotham’s vigilante finally agreeing to partner with his nemesis, but the two characters are unaware that they are being watched by this new threat. We can indeed see several creatures, similar to the one previously encountered by Batman, all of whom share a resemblance to the notorious “Clown Prince of Crime”.
