Dayana Yastremska advanced to the third round of Wimbledon qualification

The seventh racket of Ukraine Dayana Yastremska (#152 WTA)  won another match at Wimbledon. In the second round of qualification, she won over the unmarked Erika Andreeva – 6:3; 6:4.

In the first round, Diana confidently defeated the 15th seed Kimberly Birrell – 6:4; 6:3, reports champion.com.ua.

Kataryna Zavatska was defeated at the start of Wimbledon qualification. She failed to cope with Naikta Baynes – 6:4; 2:6; 3:6.

Daria Snigur could not overcome the barrier of the first round of Wimbledon qualification. She lost to second-seeded Arancha Rus – 6:7 (1:7); 4:6.

Aleksii Krutikh, who debuted at Wimbledon this year, was defeated at the start of the qualification. He lost to third-seeded Fabian Marozzhan – 1:6; 6:1; 3:6.

Elina Svitolina will play in the main draw of Wimbledon. She received a wild card from the organizers, as she did not pass according to the WTA rating.

Five Ukrainian tennis players have been announced to participate in the main draw of Wimbledon: in addition to Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya are scheduled to play at the tournament Tsurenko and Kateryna Baindl. 

The Wimbledon main draw will take place from July 3 to 16 in London.

As BAGNET reported, this year Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to participate in it in a neutral status. Last year, Russian and Belarusian athletes were not allowed to compete.
