Day of mourning declared in Ukraine amid An-26 crash

The Ukrainian authorities have decided to declare a day of mourning in the country. This is due to the crash of the An-26 aircraft with 27 passengers on board that occurred the day before.

The corresponding order was signed by Volodymyr Zelensky against the background of events in the Kharkiv region. He decided to make September 26 a day of mourning, designed to honor the memory of the deceased cadets and crew members. In connection with such a measure, the state flag will be lowered throughout Ukraine today, as for the buildings of government bodies, state enterprises, organizations, etc. In addition, concerts and festive events are canceled, changes must be made to television and radio broadcasts.

Zelensky pointed to the need for a prompt investigation of all the circumstances of the tragedy. He also stressed that the investigation must remain objective and impartial, RIA Novosti writes. Earlier it became known about the death of one of the two survivors as a result of the tragedy of the cadet.
