(Quebec) The Parti Quebecois (PQ) will table a motion this week to stop the controversial expansion of the anglophone Dawson college in Montreal at a cost of $ 100 million.
According to PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, any reinvestment should primarily be directed to the French-speaking college network to balance the number of places in CEGEPs according to Montreal’s demographics.
It should be noted that the Dawson City expansion project is the only collegiate project selected by the CAQ government to be part of the infrastructure projects to be carried out on an accelerated basis.
In an interview with The Canadian Press on Monday, the PQ leader said that the Caquist government is thus funding assimilation.
According to him, it is the symbol of a linguistic dynamic that is not going in the right direction.
Remember that a motion is the expression of a position of the National Assembly, but it does not bind the government.
