Dark: what to understand at the end of season 2 and what to expect from season 3?

At least as complicated as the first, season 2 of Dark turned our brains for 8 episodes, until an explosive finale, marked by a ultimate surprise twist. Spoiler alert!

Indeed, this season 2 ended with Jonas taken to another world, an alternative or even parallel world, perhaps even another dimension, by an “other” Martha (Lisa Vicari), different from his girlfriend who has just been killed before his eyes by the old Jonas, eager to trigger in himself the chain reaction that will transform the young Jonas into Adam. What does this disturbing Adam really want and how does he plan to get there? Where does this alternative Martha come from? And why did she take Jonah? And has any of this happened before?
Suffice it to say that completing the story of Darkwill not be easy, but in IndieWire, the two creators of the German series, Jantje Frieseand Baran bo Odar, reveal that filming for Season 3 is already underway. A season 3 which will be the last and which will therefore mark the end of the Dark cycle.
“Knowing where you want to go is one thing, but figuring out how to get there is really a whole different challenge. The basic idea for Season 3 was something we had in mind from the start. There's a lot things in Season 1 that hint at Season 3,” they explain before teasing: “We're going to see more moments with adult Ulrich. And then like in Season 2, where we we've been focusing on different characters like Claudia and Egon, we'll do the same in season 3. We're going to be spotlighting people who have smaller roles and yes, Martha and Jonas will still be at the center of it all “, they reassure.
Without a doubt, DarkSeason 3 is also up to something strong with Hannah (Maja Schöne), Jonas' mother, a woman with a troubled past who is incredibly selfish and unhealthy. The last time we saw her, she was stealing a time machine, to travel in the past, to taunt her imprisoned lover, before deciding to stay in 1956. Never mind that in her time , everyone – including his son – faces a certain apocalypse… “I adore him”, laughs Friese. “As with all the characters in Dark, when you're sure who's the bad guy or who's doing the bad, you have to be prepared to hear what made them that way.
