Maribor – Young Czech athletes increased their medal collection by two gold, two silver and three bronze medals on the last day of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Maribor. With an overall balance of 9-4-7, they took fifth place in the country ranking and significantly improved last year's record maximum in the number and value of medals from Banská Bystrica (3-5-6).

The most valuable metals were taken care of today by runner Adéla Holubová in the figure eight and tennis player Julie Paštiková in singles. Discus thrower David Jarolímek and gymnast Jonáš Daněk added silver in the vault. The volleyball players, the girls' running relay and the tennis players in the doubles finished third.

11 of the total 20 medals were taken care of by the athletes in Slovenia, who won seven gold medals. The most successful country was Italy with a record of 16-18-12.
