Croatia presented Ukraine with a DOK-ING MV-4 robotic demining system.
The certificate was handed over to the representatives of the Ukrainian side by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Croatia Ivan Anushych and the managers of the manufacturing company just on the podium of the international conference Globsec Forum, which is being held in Prague, the correspondent of Ukrinform reports.
Anushych noted that the process of demining Ukraine will require a lot of time and money. According to him, about 26% of the territory of Ukraine is contaminated by mines.
"Demining– a huge task, and international support is very much needed here. “Ukraine is not alone, we will work together as long as necessary,” the politician promised.
Croatia works with Ukraine on the issue of humanitarian demining both bilaterally and multilaterally, in particular, as part of a coalition that led by Lithuania.
Anushic announced the results of the donor conference, which took place in 2023 in Zagreb. According to him, almost half a billion dollars were collected there. This will contribute to the success of recovery, as humanitarian demining is a prerequisite for reconstruction, economic development and the return of people to their homes, the government representative added.
Croatian company DOK-ING was founded 30 years ago when the country needed cleaning equipment own territory. After the Croatian war of independence in the 1990s, about 30% of the territory was contaminated, and demining is planned to be completed only at the end of 2026.
DOC-ING produces robotic demining systems with remote control. Since the beginning of the Russian war, it has already transferred 42 such systems to various structures in Ukraine, with the help of which almost 12 million square meters were cleaned. m of territory, more than 5,600 mines and other explosive substances were neutralized without casualties on the part of the personnel. More than 150 system management specialists have been trained so far. The company will soon open its office in Ukraine.
From the Ukrainian side, Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Bezkorovainy, Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Serhii Boyev received the certificate and symbolic keys.
