Crimean blogger to be tried for justifying shelling of Ukrainian cities

Indictment against pro-Russian blogger from occupied Crimea submitted to court. His actions were qualified as collaborative activities and the production and distribution of materials containing justifications for the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, using the media, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Crimean Autonomous Republic reports.

The investigation established that during 2022-2024, a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of the occupied Crimea, created and distributed information content aimed at supporting the aggressor state and discrediting the Ukrainian military on his own Telegram channel and YouTube video hosting.

In particular, in his videos, the accused compared the fighters of the «Azov» regiment with a «neo-Nazi organization» and spoke about the alleged placement of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near civilian infrastructure facilities, assuring the audience of the expediency of missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.

Forensic linguistic examination confirmed that the accused's statements contain justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as incitement of the enemy army to hold the captured Ukrainian territories. For the actions committed, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
