Even though the number of deaths from COVID-19 remains high, it was lower on Wednesday than the day before in Quebec and Ontario.

Quebec reports 1,328 additional cases and 53 deaths as of Wednesday, bringing the total to 257,330 infected people and 9,630 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
As of Tuesday, the province recorded 1,166 new infections and 57 deaths.
The province had 34 fewer people hospitalized than Tuesday. A total of 1,290 patients were occupying a bed due to COVID-19.
In Ontario, the number of deaths and new cases fell from Tuesday.
Forty-nine additional people died, which is less than the 63 recorded on Tuesday. Since the start of the epidemic, 5,958 people have lost their lives in Ontario to COVID-19.
There were 1,670 new infections, 70 fewer than the day before. The total so far in Ontario since the start of the pandemic is 260,370.
