Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny had a telephone conversation with the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley. During the negotiations, Zaluzhny spoke about the course of the hostilities.

The main efforts are focused on the Luhansk region

Zaluzhny noted that the main forces of the enemy abandoned in the north of the Lugansk region. He massively uses artillery. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have a tenfold advantage in this weaponry. However, despite this, the Armed Forces continue to hold their positions.

In Severodonetsk, Russian troops concentrated up to 7 battalion tactical groups. Zaluzhny said that the enemy was stopped. Therefore, due to failures in the Luhansk direction, the invaders resumed shelling of residential areas of Kharkov.

Ukraine responds to shelling from Russian territory

According to Zaluzhny, Russian troops are shelling defense forces with artillery and mortars in Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

«We are firing back», the commander-in-chief emphasized.

At the moment, the width of the front is 2450 km, of which 1105 are active hostilities. In certain areas, the Armed Forces of Ukraine switched to counter-offensive actions.

We need more artillery

Valery Zaluzhny repeated his request to Milli to transfer more 155-mm artillery systems to the army as soon as possible. The strategic goals of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also announced. This should ensure transparency of interactions with partners, as well as a clear quantitative and time frame for assistance.
