The victim is a 60-year-old from Bergamo. The doctor’s intervention is useless
Tragedy at the GranTrail Courmayeur, a trailer race that is taking place in Valdigne this weekend. One of the participants, Zaverio Zamblera, probably died of an illness shortly after the start of the 100-kilometer race, at midnight between 9 and 10 July.
The sixty-year-old from Bergamo had covered about 800 meters from the start when he felt ill and collapsed. The doctor’s intervention was useless and, having arrived on the spot, he could only ascertain the death of the trailer.
Now the financiers of the Entrèves Sagf are at work to make all the necessary checks on the incident.
The organization “gathers around the runner’s family and friends in this painful circumstance”.
