Coronavirus increases the risk of infertility for men
Chief gynaecologist, Ministry of health of the Russian Federation Elena Uvarova called another consequence of infection with coronavirus. According to medical statistics, this infectious disease increases the risk of infertility in men.
Elena Uvarova said that now the fertility of young people is worse than 20 or 50 years ago. The reasons for this are the sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, alcohol consumption and obesity. However, the listed factors is attached and coronavirus. It turns out that COVID-19 in 38% of cases negatively affects sperm quality. Almost half of HIV infected men decreases the amount of semen. The disease negatively affects sperm motility. Similar consequences may result from childhood mumps. From this point of view has not been evaluated flu and chickenpox. It is assumed that these health problems also affect the fertility of men.
In addition, fertility is reduced when hormonal disruptions. They can occur in the event of a malfunction of the thyroid gland, diabetes, overweight and taking medications excessively.
