35 is the new 50 – at least on the way out of the corona lockdown in Germany.
The incidence of 35 is meant to mean easing, offering perspective. Chaos with announcement?
After the lockdown * extension until March 7th, a new code number plays an important role.
If the incidence is less than 35 days, the federal-state resolution promises openings.
With this “loosening value” there are still many questions, too many.
Munich – The lockdown in Germany has been extended until March 7th. That was decided at the federal-state summit.
The same corona rules should apply in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia as well as Saxony and all other federal states. Exception: In the case of schools and daycare centers, the federal states can decide according to their own sovereignty.
The focus is on a new key figure – a 7-day incidence of 35.
The goal is to keep the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants stable below this value in one week. Only then should the “next opening steps” be allowed to relax from March 7th. Specifically named in the joint decision are retailers, museums, galleries and the still “closed body-related service companies”.
On top of that, the value must be “stable”. Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) spoke of at least three days after the federal-state talks on which this value would have to be reached. “So to have reached 35 once is not a stable or sustainable incidence,” affirmed government spokesman Steffen Seibert on FridayStatement. More consistency is needed. So low Corona * infection numbers.
Incidence value below 35: who then actually decides about openings?
The mark 35 is clear. But what exactly it means, what loosening can look like, remains open at first. Does the 35 value apply to the entire country or to individual counties?
The federal states will decide on the implementation of the opening steps when a stable 7-day incidence of 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is reached,” said a government spokeswoman ntv.de on demand. This also applies to the reference level, i.e. the question of whether districts or the entire federal state have to meet the relaxation conditions.
Government spokesman Seibert confirmed the opening by the federal states to the dpa news agency when asked.
Easing possible from March 7th: Is opening chaos inevitable?
The opening steps therefore lie with the federal states. Regional openings with a stable 35 incidence are therefore possible. A patchwork of the easing seems inevitable. In some areas the stores can open and in others they cannot. Shopping tourism across national borders already existed in the first lockdown in spring.
The decision of the federal and state governments therefore states: “Joint precautions must be taken with the neighboring areas with higher incidences in order to avoid cross-state use of the open offers as much as possible.”
How could these precautions look like? Borders in the districts should be difficult to control.
The re are also enormous differences in the number of infections. In Germany, the 7-day incidence is currently 62.2. Rhineland-Palatinate currently has the lowest value – 52.6. In Brandenburg (76.6), Saarland (72.8), Saxony-Anhalt (79.0) and Thuringia (105.9), according to RKI data, it is significantly higher than the overall incidence. In some circles, the corona situation is still tense. Tirschenreuth (Bavaria) with an incidence of 348.4 has been a hotspot in Germany for days. In the Bavarian town of Ingolstadt, however, the value is 26.2. More information about Corona in Germany is available in our news ticker. (ml) Merkur.de * is part of the Ippen-Digital network

The new Corona resolutions are met with criticism, as Merkur.de reports. A Prime Minister in the election campaign is frustrated after the summit – and a Leopoldina member also has comments.
