The pre-Easter fast is now underway. Christians try to limit themselves in entertainment, bad habits and food. That's why Radio Maximum offers to prepare appetizing cabbage rolls without meat.

Chef and pastry chef Lisa Glinska decided to prepare appetizing and lean cabbage rolls. See the recipe on her Instagram page.

This dish is healthy and extremely tasty, be sure to make it for your family.

Friends, I have prepared a Lenten dish for you – cabbage rolls, but not ordinary ones, not with rice, but with one ingredient that is much more useful than rice, – writes Glinska.

Song cabbage rolls:

  • 200 g of pearl barley
  • 400 g of mushrooms
  • 2 bulbs
  • 1 carrot (large)
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • dill
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

Cooking method:

1. Wash and soak the pearl barley overnight in cold water.
Wash the mushrooms, cut them into small pieces and fry them in vegetable oil with the addition of salt and pepper.

2. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot and fry in vegetable oil, add salt to taste.

3. Cook pearl barley in a ratio of 1:3, i.e. 200 g of grain and 600 ml of water. Salt the water, cover with a lid and cook over low heat until ready.

4. We take Beijing cabbage, cut off the part near the root and carefully disassemble the leaves.

5. Thoroughly wash the leaves, put them in a saucepan, pour boiling water, cover with a lid and leave for 10 minutes.

6. We mix pearl porridge with mushrooms and half of fried carrots with onions. Stir.

7. Add chopped dill and mix again.

8. The stuffing for cabbage rolls is ready, let the food cool completely.

9. We take the cabbage out of the water. Take a leaf, cut off the hard part, turn it over and put the filling on the edge of the leaf, wrap it up.

10. We transfer the formed cabbage rolls into a baking dish or a pan close to each other. It can be cooked in the oven or stewed in a pot on the stove.

11. We mix the remaining roast with tomato paste. Add warm water and mix.

12. Pour the dressing over the cabbage rolls and place in an oven heated to 185 degrees with convection for 40 minutes.

13. We take the cabbage rolls out of the oven, wait for them to cool a little and enjoy.
