Cook it sold to Fresh Prep, Vancouver

Canadian meal box delivery service Fresh Prep has entered into an agreement with Cook it to acquire substantially all of its assets. If the transaction fails in the Superior Court of Quebec, Cook it intends to place itself under the protection of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

On January 29, Cook filed with the Court a notice of intention to make a proposal, a procedure which protects the company from its creditors for 30 days under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

The purchase includes most of Cook it's operations, facilities, equipment, trademarks and other assets, it said. in a press release. The amount of the transaction is not specified.

Cook it specifies that it will maintain its relationships with its Quebec producers while Fresh Prep says it wants to expand its relationships with Quebec producers to add new offerings to the Cook it menu.
