The Commission in charge of selecting the candidate or candidates for Ombudsman was installed this Monday in the Congress of the Republic. The Board of Directors of the working group was formed as follows: president, Freddy Díaz Mónago (APP); Vice President, Rossángela Barbarán (FP); and secretary, Elvis Vergara (AP).

The installation session was chaired by the spokesman for Renovación Popular, Jorge Montoya. In the session it was agreed that the sessions will be on Tuesdays at 10:30 in the morning, both in person and remotely.

The Members of the new special commission to elect the Ombudsman are congressmen Rosangella Barbarán (FP), Silvana Robles (PL), Elvis Vergara (Popular Action) and Freddy Díaz (APP). In addition, there are legislators José Williams (Avanza País), Jorge Montoya (RP), Alex Paredes (BM), Roberto Kamiche (PD) and Ruth Luque, representing the groups of Somos Perú, Cambio Democrático and Perú Bicentenario.

As recalled, the Judiciary ordered Parliament to suspend the election of the new Ombudsman until there is a final decision on the amparo action that presented by the Union of the Ombudsman for considering that there was no transparency or publicity in the process.
