Dmytro and Mykhailo come from the Kherson region. For several months now, in the ranks of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, they have been destroying the enemy in the Donetsk region. About how they became drone operators, what enemy equipment they dream of knocking down and how the Defense Forces are superior to the occupiers — below in our material.
The beginning of the great war and occupation of the native village
At the time of the large-scale invasion, the elder brother Dmytro was already serving in the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the younger one, Mykhailo, was in Novoraysk, in Kherson Region.
The boy said that for the first weeks he refused to believe it but in a month it became clear that the Russians had come to his village for a long time. Then Mykhailo began to think about how to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine.
From the first time, it was not possible to do this, and because of this, the Russians drew attention to him, took him to the basement, abused him, but then let him go home. The guy is sure that then he was put "for interrogation".
After months of the village being under the control of the occupiers, good news came from a neighbor boy — The Armed Forces of Ukraine are already in the center of Novoraisk.
— Then the Russians left a lot of their equipment. This was called the Katsap Lendlease. They stole almost everything from Kherson itself, from boats to grain and metal, — told Mykhailo.
How the brothers got to 110 brigade
After the de-occupation of part of the Kherson region, the younger of the brothers also joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and also joined the Military Law and Order Service. While undergoing basic military training, he received the call sign “Google”. due to that in in an incomprehensible situation one always "googles" and is looking for the right answers.
Elder brother has been serving in the army for about five’years:
— My name is Dmytro, call sign "Old", 29 years old , joined the army in 2019. The summons was brought home, after which he was assigned to the Military Law and Order Service, where he served until the beginning of 2024 year, — said the elder brother.
According to him, after the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky to transfer from the rear units, he got into the 110th separate mechanized brigade. told that on deployment, he was immediately able to get into the unmanned systems battalion, where he was trained on FPV-drones for about a month.
— Mavic — it is a post-FPV bike. We immediately got into the simulator, and after three days of the simulator Mavic seemed like a toy to us. They flew on as if on a crazy, — said the warrior.
At the same time, the guy explained that there is nothing complicated in controlling an FPV drone. In his opinion, if you learn to drive and understand coordination, only weather conditions or countermeasures of the EW type can interfere.
Dmytro flies on the FPV not alone, but together with his brother Mykhailo, who was also transferred from the Military Law and Order Service to the 110th OMBr.
— I got into the unmanned systems, one might say, by acquaintance. The commander was there, and he appealed to the command to take him to him (to his brother. Ed.). I invited my command to transfer, as close as possible to him, to the 110th. They gave the go-ahead, arrived, met, worked a little, studied a little and went to Donbas. For about a week or a half, maybe even more, we still practiced working as a team, and over time we started bombing enemy equipment,— said "Google".
How do computer games help the drone
The guys explained that not every person can master the skills of controlling a drone. According to them, the older a person is, the more difficult it is for him to learn and understand all the processes, although there are exceptions. At the same time, the “Old Man” emphasized that the experience of computer games will be useful for the future drone player.
— The biggest base, I for me, was simple computer games, because well, cool&hellip ;t I, — said Dmytro with a smile.
He clarified that games develop coordination, thinking, and even reaction well. The boy believes that it would be much more difficult for him to control the drone if he had not spent so much time playing computer games.
Therefore, he recommends playing various shooters with real people or flight simulators. And this will certainly help in the future, if a person wants to pilot drones in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
For several months of service in the 110 brigade, the fighters have already managed to destroy a considerable amount of enemy equipment. “Old man” told that among the significant targets it was possible to destroy more than one tank of the occupiers.
— I would like «Buratos» (Russian MLRS. — Ed.) destroy. Such a good mushroom grows from it, — shared his plans for Dmytro's future.
He clarified that among the destroyed tanks were "eighty" and T-72B3. "Google" told that already in the second week of combat deployments it was possible to destroy the enemy “Motoliga”.
— We understand what road they always drive, where they slow down, where they can hide in some bushes. And so, in these 4 months, we already have more than 15 boxes of armored vehicles alone. I think it is a good result, — Mykhailo said.
At the same time, the guys don't count the destroyed cars anymore, because they lost count. We are talking about “loaves”, motorcycles and quad bikes. In addition, it was possible to hit Russian mortars, antennas, EWs and Starlinks.
The brothers also said that the drone operator was one of the first Russians killed. And this is a very important goal for the Ukrainian military, because a trained enemy drone can do a lot of damage.
The enemy is strong, but the Armed Forces have better training
The brothers immediately rejected the phrase about “Chmobyks-Russians”; and declared that the enemy is quite strong.
— What they say that "chmobikes", they simply lower our soldiers below the plinth. They (Russians. — Ed.) have already learned to fight, probably in some cases, better than our boys. They take over everything very quickly. And learn from their mistakes, — noted Dmytro.
At the same time, the boys assured that there were more drones, although from both sides. the Russians have a quantitative advantage precisely in "birds», but the ZSU has a much better quality of piloting and training of drone operators.
“Old man” added that Ukrainians need a lot of strength and resources to defeat the enemy horde, and therefore, it is worth uniting and join the army, and already work together for victory.
What  ;adds energy and what are the plans for «after the war»
«Old» and "Google" they assure that soldiers need more rest, because «work» you have to fight the enemy almost every day and practically without days off. However, even during such fatigue there is strength, energy and motivation. According to them, this happens after a drone hits enemy equipment or personnel. It is then that the boys realize that they are in the right place and are doing important work. Contemplating their plans for “after the war”, the older brother wants to sleep in a banal way, while the younger one plans to travel in some places. tropical countries and to see the world in general.
