The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (Ministry) explained why mobile communication becomes unstable during power outages and how to deal with it.
Advice in case of power outages was published by the press service Ministry of Statistics.
Many Ukrainians have noticed that during power outages, 4G changes to E (EDGE), and the connection becomes unstable. This happens due to overloading of mobile operators' networks.
Under normal conditions, the majority of Internet traffic falls on home or office Internet. However, during blackouts, users massively switch to mobile Internet, which leads to an increase in the load on the mobile network almost 10 times. As a result, communication and the Internet become unstable.
