A collision between a car and a snowmobile causes 2 dead

A vehicle collided with a snowmobile, according to the Sûreté du Québec.

Two snowmobilers lost their lives Sunday evening after their vehicle collided with a car in the Lanaudière region.

The victims are an elderly man 35-year-old and a 34-year-old woman, who resided in Saint-Lin-Laurentides.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 125 and Rue Turcotte, in Saint-Esprit. The snowmobile was crossing the road at an authorized location when the automobile hit it.

The two victims were transported to a state critical at the hospital. Their death was later pronounced. As for the driver of the car, he was not injured, but he was still taken to hospital as a precaution.

The SQ does not believe that criminal behavior was involved in this tragedy.
