CNN showed exclusive footage of the destruction of wagons with Iranian missiles in the Russian Federation (video)

Journalists were able to independently confirm through their sources that there was a direct hit on the object. Informants confirmed that the explosions inside the warehouse were powerful.

CNN journalists spent two days with one of the Ukrainian long-range drone units, which is part of the GUR, and released footage of the destruction on the night of September 29, 2024 of a stockpile of Iranian missiles stored in train cars on the territory of the Russian Federation. CNN did not disclose the locations of the sites visited for operational security reasons, but noted that one of the Ukrainian fighters who accompanied them told reporters that he had personally overseen more than 500 long-range drone strikes on Russian territory since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In September, sources told CNN that Tehran had recently completed the delivery of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. Iran categorically denies that it supplied any missiles.

“The facility is located on the outskirts of the tiny village of Kotluban in the Volgograd Region in southwestern Russia,” — CNN noted.

The journalists explained that the GUR shared with CNN video from the area where the warehouse is located.

CNN was able to independently review and verify aspects of the video without blurring to verify its authenticity.

A defense intelligence source told CNN that their knowledge of the camera's location, combined with its distance from Kotlubani, allowed them to determine that the explosions inside the warehouse were powerful.

The time-lapse video shows 11 explosions that occurred over a 56-minute period between 2:22 a.m. and 3:18 a.m. — precisely at the time when the drones arriving from Ukraine were expected to land.

CNN was able to independently confirm through its sources that there was a direct hit on the object.

The image shows a series of objects scattered around the building, as well as a heavily damaged building.

A later Maxar Technologies satellite image, also obtained by CNN, shows less debris nearby — evidence that the Russian military cleared the site, — but the same building, but badly damaged.
