Famous actor Christoph Waltz (“No Time To Die”, “Alita”, “Inglorious Basterds”) will play Hollywood legend directed by Billy Wilder (“B jazz only girls”, “Apartment”). The biopic is called “Dangerous Liaisons” and is based on the novel by Jonathan Coe “Mr Wilder and Me”. The script will be adapted by Christopher Hampton (“Father”), according to Variety.
The official synopsis of the film reads: In the summer of 1977, an innocent young woman begins working with acclaimed director Billy Wilder and his screenwriter Easy Diamond on a Greek island during the filming of Fedora. Later, they will travel to Germany to shoot, where she will get to know the Wilder family story.
Screenwriter Hampton shared: “Since we first met in Los Angeles in the early 80s, Billy Wilder has been very kind to me. Jonathan Coe's wonderful novel provided the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude and admiration for one of the giants in film history.”

Filming will begin in 2023 in Greece, Munich and Paris.
Billy Wilder was a six-time Oscar winner, including wins for Best Picture (The Apartment), Best Director (Lost weekend”) and “Best Screenplay” (“Sunset Boulevard”).
