Chinese engineers have developed the latest drone that can launch swarms of drones in the air

Before the air show in Zhuhai in China was presented the concept of "maternal" Jiu Tian drone, which may have the ability to launch swarms of drones in the air, which will be a significant step in the development of unmanned technology

According to reports, the Jiu Tian drone-mat, which means “High Sky” in Chinese, has a maximum take-off weight of 10 tons and is equipped with jet engines, and its design was developed by the Chinese state-owned corporation AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China).

The Jiu Tian drone-mat looks like a standard aircraft with a tricycle landing gear, but its central compartment, labeled as the “Isomeric Beehive”, indicates the ability to launch and control unmanned aerial vehicles in the air, which allows not only to launch drones in flight, but also to use the mother platform itself as a command center for coordinating drones.

In China and other countries, this is an important step towards creating a system that allows to increase the range of drones to perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • reconnaissance;
  • surveillance;
  • electronic warfare;
  • strike operations using kamikaze drones.

This achievement by Chinese developers further emphasizes the growing importance of unmanned technologies, as the experience of the war between Russia and Ukraine has shown, where drones play an important role.

Drone mother platforms capable of launching them in the air significantly increase their operational radius and ability to carry out precise strikes.

By the way, Colonel Niu Wenbo of the Equipment Department of the Chinese Air Force confirmed that China's latest medium-sized stealth multi-role fighter, the J-35A, will be showcased at the 15th China International Air Show.
