At the Zhuhai 2024 Air Show, China presented a new medium- and short-range air defense (ADF) system, the Falcon 70. The system is capable of effectively intercepting air threats, including cruise missiles, drones, and aircraft. It operates independently due to its multifunctional capabilities.
Developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology, the Falcon 70 has an improved ability to combat swarm attacks, supporting up to 21 missiles per combat vehicle.

The Falcon 70 includes medium- and short-range missiles with various guidance methods, which ensures a high probability of destroying targets.
The system is also equipped with technology to combat drones, including electronic countermeasures that disrupt communications and GPS signals to reduce the effectiveness of UAV swarms.
The APM can be integrated on various vehicles, which makes it universal for various branches of the armed forces.
The new development will be an important addition to China's defense capabilities, along with other new developments such as the SWS2 and HQ-19, which strengthen the country's multi-level air defense system.
