According to experts, if necessary, a giant drone Jiu Tian can be converted for reconnaissance or strikes.

On the eve of the international Zhuhai Air Show in China, organized by the Beijing administration, a prototype of the 10-ton Jiu Tian jet drone, capable of launching swarms of drones, was spotted at the event. . Experts of The War Zone portal drew attention to this.

The publication noted that the Jiu Tian has a high-mounted main wing with minimal sweep and small winglets at the tips, as well as an h-shaped tail. A jet engine is located in the upper part of the central fuselage. Under the nose of the UAV, you can see a sensor tower, probably equipped with electro-optical and infrared cameras.

Experts also pointed to a central section intended for the payload. They suggested that the module could be designed to launch smaller drones, particularly those operating in swarms. The declared maximum take-off weight of the Jiu Tian is about 10 tons.

In addition to the ability to launch swarms, the underwing pylons and sensors of the Jiu Tian suggest that the UAV has reconnaissance, surveillance, target detection and strike capabilities. The publication believes that the central section can be modified by adding additional sensor packages or the ability to carry certain loads.

To sum up, the experts of the portal said that the Jiu Tian is a potentially important addition to China's unmanned arsenal, particularly as a base UAV for swarm of drones.
