Oil production in China in August increased by 2.3% compared to the same month last year – to 16.65 million tons, according to data from the State Statistical Office. At the same time, oil imports increased by 12.6% and reached 47.48 million tons.
Refining volumes increased by 9.2% and amounted to 59.47 million tons.
In January-August, oil production increased by 1.5% to 130.15 million tons, while oil refining increased by 3.2% to 440 million tons.
Natural gas production in China last month increased by 3.7% and amounted to 14.2 billion cubic meters. Since the beginning of the year, the indicator has reached 122.5 billion cubic meters, which is 8.8% more than in January-August 2019.
Gas imports last month rose 12.3% to 9.36 billion cubic meters, Xinhua news agency reported.
