China first held military exercises with two aircraft carriers

The Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China conducted joint military exercises with the participation of two aircraft carrier strike groups for the first time.

This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China.

The Liaoning aircraft carriers took part in the maneuvers in the South China Sea. and “Shandong” with their detachments of warships.

The Defense Department noted that during the training, the crews of both Chinese aircraft carrier strike groups improved interaction and combat coordination when performing tasks at sea , and emphasized that training with two aircraft carriers is part of the Navy's annual combat training plan.

Currently, the PRC Navy has two aircraft carriers "Liaoning" and “Shandong” with a displacement of about 50,000 tons each, equipped with conventional (non-nuclear) power plants, which are used to launch aircraft by the springboard method.

China also built a third aircraft carrier, the Fujian. (Fujian), which has a displacement of over 80,000 tons and uses the latest electromagnetic aircraft launch system (electromagnetic catapult). It will be the largest and most powerful warship ever built by an Asian country, as well as the world's largest non-US aircraft carrier.

Now the "Fujian" is undergoing sea trials and is expected to enter combat service in the near future.

China claims control over almost the entire South China Sea, including areas controlled by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and B&rsquo ;yetnam.
