The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that with the collaboration of 11 municipal police forces, its investigators made 26 arrests in several regions of Quebec this week in connection with child pornography.

It is the work of the integrated team to combat child pornography (EILPJ) which made it possible to make these arrests in 19 Quebec municipalities.

The Sûreté du Québec reports that the 26 suspects, all men, are aged 17 to 84. They appeared in the Criminal Chamber of the courthouse in their region of residence on charges of production, possession, distribution and access to child pornography.

The police carried out several searches at the suspects' homes and computer equipment was seized for analysis.

More than 300 police officers took part in the investigations and to the deployment which allowed the arrests and searches which took place in the regions of Montreal, Quebec, Mauricie, Lanaudière, Montérégie, Estrie, Beauce, Outaouais , Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Centre-du-Québec.
