Can become a source of energy: in Ukraine developed “power bank trolleybuses”

The company “Politehnoservice” produces autonomous and water-powered trolleybuses, and additionally developed the “power bank” function.

The Ukrainian company “Politehnoservice”, specializing in electric transport, presented a number of solutions, in particular “powerbank trolleybus” and autonomous trolleybus. Company director Mykola Kugut told the dev.ua portal about this.

It is reported that the company recently demonstrated a trolleybus on which a hydrogen system can be installed. This vehicle can operate autonomously, without the need for a contact network, using hydrogen to generate electricity.

In addition, the company manufactures autonomous trolleybuses, including batteries for them, with the ability to charge from the contact network. This allows the vehicle to travel up to 30 kilometers without connecting to energy carriers.

The system of autonomous movement works according to the following principle: while the trolleybus moves under the catenary network, it charges the battery, which can also be charged from a 380 V network socket. If there is no network on the route, the trolleybus automatically collects current receivers and continues moving.

It is also reported that the company has additionally developed the “trolley-power bank” function. Since the vehicle has a high-voltage battery and a converter, at a critical moment it can become a power source for, for example, a hospital.

“We are a manufacturer of the drive, electronic and electrical equipment that makes the trolley what it is. , that we are exclusive in Ukraine, because none of the trolleybus manufacturers have their own trolleybus drive, battery for autonomous operation or other developments that we are engaged in,” — noted Mykola Kugut.

Currently, the company is testing a multiplex system that collects all signals on the trolleybus and sends it to the driver's workplace. For now, the system is manufactured for their trolleybus, but in the future they plan to offer it to other manufacturers as part of the equipment.
