Bulgaria thinks its airspace is in danger and asks for US help

The US may to take over the protection of Bulgarian airspace if the delivery of new F-16 fighters is delayed.

According to BNR, Acting Bulgarian Defense Minister Dragomir Zakov said this.

“I I cannot commit myself to a specific aircraft, but we have made progress in negotiations with the United States. We, of course, asked other countries, but at the most advanced stage we have negotiations with the United States, & ndash; Zakov said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense on Tuesday.

He added that if Bulgaria fails to ensure the operation of its MiG-29 fighters until 2025, when the delivery of American aircraft is expected, the United States could use its aircraft to protect the Bulgarian airspace.
