The singer remains mired in a conflict between her father Jamie Spears in order to lift the tutelage he has managed since 2008, a year of highly publicized nervous breakdown.
For several months, her fans, worried about her well-being, have been mobilizing and campaigning for her to regain her autonomy with the hashtag #FreeBritney as a banner.
Their fight will also be the focus of this documentary titled Framing Britney Spears, which premieres on FX and Hulu on February 5th.
“People close to Britney Spears and the lawyers attached to her guardianship look back on her career as she takes her father to court to find out who should be in control of her life,” reads the description of the film.
A trailer shows clips of interviews with many people involved in the #FreeBritney movement.
Framing Britney Spears is the sixth episode of the first season of the documentary series “The New York Times Presents”, conducted by journalists from the American daily.
