British soldiers are urged to prepare for the fact that they can be sent to war in Ukraine, the Mirror writes.

Warrant officer Paul Carney advises military personnel to check their physical fitness and take care of relatives and friends, because when sent to Ukraine, communication with them may be absent for a long time.

According to the officer, the soldiers are now “preparing to counter the threat from Russia and any aggression.”

“I ask that you now discuss with them (your loved ones. – ed.) a potential shipment. Find numbers of support networks and relevant people who can help them, such as a welfare officer and a minister”, — urged Carney.

General and former head of the British Army Richard Dennett also do not rule out such a development of events.

“This does not mean that the army is going to go to Ukraine, but the duty any army in peacetime is preparing for war in every aspect of life. However, in view of the war in Europe, an aggressive Russia and troubled countries on Russia's borders, it makes sense that British soldiers are realistic about what might happen”, — he commented.
