British Parliament calls for action against countries helping Russia to circumvent sanctions

Third countries helping Russia bypass Western sanctions should not go unpunished. Maximum pressure should be exerted on such states.

Sir Roger Gale, member of the House of Representatives of the British Parliament, head of the British delegation to PACE, Sir Roger Gale, stated this in an interview with Guildhall.

The UK Parliament calls for action against countries helping the Russian Federation to circumvent sanctions

“My personal position is that we must apply sanctions as harshly and forcefully as possible. As I said, every dollar, every ruble sponsors shells for Putin's military machine, so it is really very important that the sanctions are tightened as much as we can at all,” the British politician said.

“Nowhere in the world has there ever been a sanctioned regime that has not been violated, for example, when we imposed an embargo on South Africa, those sanctions were violated. People will always find a way around sanctions, because there will always be those for whom money is more important than dignity. This means that there will be people in other countries, third countries, perhaps even in the United Kingdom, who will try to find workarounds in order to be able to trade, but this does not mean that we should put up with it, we should do everything in in our power and to apply any pressure we can and should apply to any third country that seeks to strengthen Putin's war machine,” summed up British MP Ser Roger Gale.
